I have already heard from many upcoming seniors and am excited to start working with each of you in the weeks ahead. Right about now you’re starting to receive mailings from studios in your area and some of your friends may already be talking about senior images. As you consider your options, here are some things you should know about Tice Photography:
1) A portrait consultation starts the process. This gives us a chance to get to know each other. Once I understand who you are I can create images that represent you best.
2) Great locations are what I specialize in. Your images will always be different from your friends. If you’re tired of seeing the same studio backdrops and props in portraits, or seeing people leaned against a tree in a backyard, you have come to the right place. Colors, textures and lighting possibilities are endless when working on location. The location is always there to enhance the subject and never over power.
3) I work with one client per day. Essentially you are commissioning me to create something that you will display on your wall for a lifetime. To do that, I need to give you
my complete attention. I’ve found that my clients expression is best when they aren’t hurried. They can be themselves without a stopwatch clicking away.
4) Friends and family are a big part of the experience. For high school seniors, most clients bring at least 1 friend and sometimes more. Friends have a way of making people feel at ease. They bring out genuine expression and if a wardrobe or hair opinion is needed, who better than your best friend. 1 parent is required at the session, an
experience they will never forget.
5) Great images are the end result. Our goal is to wow you and your friends & family. Each image is technically reviewed with an artistic eye. Any skin blemishes and stray
hairs are retouched at no extra charge.
6) Sharing the fun is the final part of the experience. A few days after each session I will choose 10-20 images and post them on my website blog. This sneak peek is a great way to share with your friends and family. Feel free to copy them and post to your own web page. The files aren’t big enough for printing, but they will look dynamite on a MySpace or Facebook page.
Best wishes! I look forward to hearing from you very soon!

On Friday afternoon I had a session with Thea. With the exception of a little wind, it was a perfect day.
Before each session we start with a consultation where I get to know each person I photograph before deciding on an approach. For Thea my notes read “blonde sparkplug!” That pretty much summed up the session!

Last Saturday morning I had a session with Sam. Spring in Minnesota can be so crazy. 1 week it feels like summer in April and the next week it feels like winter in May. Go figure. For Sam’s session the morning started nice & crisp. If he wasn’t awake by the time he got on location, he sure was after we started. Read more.. »

Last week I had a session with Amanda in Minneapolis. Amanda is into theater and as she mentioned in her consultation, she didn’t want her images to feel like typical high school senior images. She wanted to have a much greater range of expression and image composition. Read more.. »

On Sunday afternoon I had a session with Shaina. Working on location has some obstacles, the weather being the greatest of them. Last fall Shaina’s session was rained out twice and this spring we were rained out once. On our forth try we were successful! Over the course of a year, about 10% of my sessions end up being reschedules due to weather. Thank you so much Shaina for your flexibility! Read more.. »
