This past Saturday I was thrilled to photograph the KTIS Joyful Noise Family Fest. It was a 1 day outdoor Christian music festival held at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN. This was the first year KTIS has done anything like this and they did it right. What an awesome event.
MercyMe was the headliner. Other artists included Lincoln Brewster, PFR, 10th Avenue North, Chris Sligh (American Idol Season 6) and others. The station gave me access to all areas except for the part of the stage where the artists were performing. Everything else was fair game.
Not only do I love using my talents as a ministry, but from a creative standpoint its great to shoot something entirely different to help reset my eyes. With musicians there is no shortage of personality on stage, which makes for a great shoot.
In addition to great music all day, there were also activities for kids. For this event I had the entire family with me. At one point my daughter Beatrice (10) joined me on stage and took some pictures. Her eyes were HUGE. Watching her reaction was worth it all.
