My name is Brian Tice and I’m a portrait photographer based in Anoka, MN. If this is your first visit to the Tice Photography website, thank you for visiting.

The Tice Photography Approach – Its Personal, Its Always Personal

I love photographing people. In fact, I only photograph people. I’m at a great place in my life right now where I see the beauty in the very young and the very old. I believe God has created each person in His image. It is my honor to bring out each person’s very best using the talents God has given me.

Consultation

I can never photograph someone I have just met. Nobody responds well to a camera being pushed in their face. It is very unnatural. That is why I start with a consultation before the photo shoot. We talk about hair, makeup, wardrobe and the overall feel each person wants from their images. It also gives me a chance to understand who I’m working with and how to best encourage them. There needs to be a connection between the photographer and the person being photographed to bring out genuine expression.

Photo Shoot

I have 1 shoot per day, that’s it. 2-3 hours are always carved out for the experience. There is no rush, no pressure from the clock. Just relax and enjoy working on location in places that I know you will love. Some places are chosen by my clients, but most ask me to fill in the blanks based on what I learn about them.

After the Shoot

I post a sneak peek on the Tice Photography website and Facebook. If you don’t want your images posted, that is OK too. Usually 1 week after the shoot we get together at my place to view the images on the big screen and take care of your order. I introduce the various things that can be created with your images and take care of your order while we are together. Finished pieces are ready in 3-4 weeks.

Investment

Prices will be provided once we have had a brief phone conversation. Each client represents 12-15 hours of my time, from the first phone call to the final pieces being handed off. I have clients who spend $700 and others who spend $3,500+. Each client has different needs.

Photography – You Absolutely Get What You Pay For

I can go onto Craigslist right now and find photographers who just purchased a DSLR at Wal-Mart who will photograph you for free. Others charge $200-$300, go on location and provide the digital files. Still other photographers like Annie Leibovitz may charge $50,000+ for a full day session.  Prices vary greatly and so does quality.

Tice Photography – Worth Every Penny

I would argue that there is a difference, a huge Tice Photography difference.

- There is a difference in how you interact with your photographer, working with an artist who takes the time to get to know you and bring out your best expression.

- There is a difference in the artistic ability and technical mastery. It is the composition, lighting, texture, all the intangible things that go into great images.

- There is a difference in the quality of materials used in the finished pieces. All canvas pieces are not the same, not by a long shot. Artistry needs to carry all the way through to the finished pieces.

- There is a difference in the final “WOW” moment when your friends walk into a room showcasing a Tice Photography image. It will stop people in their tracks, guaranteed.

I’m passionate about what I do, downright obsessive. This is what I love. This is why I left my day job in 2007 and never looked back.

I want to be your photographer and look forward to hearing from you.
