Last week Natasha’s cousin Johanna and husband Ryan welcomed their second child into this world, a 9 lb baby girl Victoria. After they got home from the hospital I stopped over with camera in hand, so at 3 days old Victoria has already had her first portrait session.
I love watching babies in that first week. There is that funky expression they get as they try to focus their eyes, a mixture of great intent and at the same time total confusion. Then there is the figuring out of different body parts. There was one point where Victoria was looking right as me and was moving her arm like crazy. There was a moment where her hand crossed her field of view and it almost scared her. “Whoa! what was that thing that just went flying by? There it is again!” So much to discover. Good thing she has a big sister to bring her up to speed quickly!
