Last Thursday I had the honor of photographing Brad & Jessica’s wedding. What a fun time. The ceremony and reception were held at the Como Conservatory, which is becoming a favorite place to shoot. For several days leading up the the wedding, the weather forecast was saying “thunderstorms, proceed with extreme caution!” Well, maybe it wasn’t quite that dramatic, but it was rain in the forecast none the less, which for a wedding day is pretty dramatic.
As I was driving to the wedding, there were massive dark coulds to the north, and my home in Anoka got dreached. But as I arrived at Como, we had a little sprinkle and then the skies cleared. It was perfect. Who ever was praying over the wedding, God was listening!
With every wedding there is something that sticks in my head. For Brad & Jessica, they are both in the military and both probably know a dozen or more ways to kill a person with their bare hands. But, when you watch them together and when you see them in these images, they are so tender with each other. There is a respect and an admiration. Its a really cool thing to watch.
My favorite image of the day? So many favorites. 1 really stands out though. Scroll down and check out the image of Jessica’s mom putting lipstick on Jessica. The expressions are HILARIOUS!!!!
Thanks for including me in your wedding Brad & Jessica.

Brian,
God has truly given you a gift to catch ‘the moment’. Thank you for your calm, reassuring manner and your zest for capturing life at large. You are a blessing and captured many wonderful images that will tug at my heart each time I glance at them.
My heart felt thanks,
Pam Smith
Good Morning Pam!
I just woke up and read your note. I think that is one of the nicest things anyone has written.
Isn’t that what every bride needs on their big day? They need to be reassured, they need someone who is calm behind the camera and at the end of the day, the images need to tug at your heart or none of it really matters.
Brad & Jessica are such a cool couple. They made my job easy.
Best wishes!
