Last night I had a great session with Andy & Mary Jo. The afternoon started in the mid to upper 90′s, feeling like a rainforest in Minneapolis, but by 6:00 when we started shooting it had cooled off enough to where it was downright nice to be outside. I love it when a plan comes together!
The entire drive into Minneapolis Andy & Mary Jo had me laughing. I can’t wait for their wedding! In the course of conversation Mary Jo mentioned that one of her biggest fears was that she would look “retarded” in her wedding pictures. The great thing about an engagement session is that it gives me a chance to get to know the bride & groom, see how they interact and find out what their concerns are before the big day. In MJ’s case it didn’t take long to figure out her concerns. I basically let her know that there was no pressure. If we see something on the back of the camera that we don’t like, we’ll just hit delete. No harm done.
On the way home I let her view the images on the back of the camera and she loved what she saw. Mission accomplished!
Mary Jo, you’re going to photograph beautifully on your big day. I have all confidence.
