Recently I’ve been working on a project for an Anoka area dentist Dr. Eric Ness at Anoka-Ramsey Dental. (By the way, if you’re in need of an awesome dentist I highly recommend Dr. Ness!) On Sunday afternoon I had a session with Paige.  We were joined by her mom and her friend Sam.  I’m still amazed that I was shooting on location in mid-November in Minneapolis and in my shirt sleeves.  This time of year I tell prospective clients that there are no guarantees.  I’ll do my best, but this is Minnesota and we are known for snow.  We were truly blessed with a perfect day.

Last week I had a session with Deborah in St.Paul.  I know I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again.  Anytime I’m able to shoot outside in early November without freezing my tail off is a good day.  For Deborah’s session, it was a very good day. Read more.. »

Earlier this week I had a session with Bridget.For her session the goal was to capture her bright, spontaneous and enthusiastic personality.  As far as settings go, she wanted an urban feel and some natural elements at the same time. Read more.. »

This afternoon I had a great session with Lori.  We were joined by her dad and one of her sisters.  I’ve been looking forward to this session for most of the summer.  There are 6 kids in Lori’s family and I’ve photographed 3 of the six so far.  Read more.. »

Last week when I returned from LA I had a session with Kayla.  Kayla is a student at Coon Rapids High School.  One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to know new families, and in the case of Coon Rapids I’ve been getting to know a huge cluster of families.  Each of the students come to their session with an entourage of friends, which makes for a fun time. A week or so ago I had a session with Miranda in Minneapolis.  Some sessions are more challenging than others.  For Miranda we had some crazy wind, so in addition finding some great light, and some colors and compositions that were a great fit with Miranda, the wind also needed to be factored in. I feel like I say this all the time, but this was TRULY one of my favorite sessions of the year.  Amanda is my niece and Kelsey is her step sister.  My wife Natasha and I have been have been married for 17 years and Amanda was in our wedding images as a baby.  Fast forward and here I am taking her senior pictures. Last Saturday morning I had a great session with Megan. It was one of those classic crisp fall days as we started in Minneapolis around 9:30.  Everything was still a little damp as the sun started to slowly warm everything.  Lucky for us there was very little wind where we were shooting.  With Megan’s amazing head of hair I was very thankful for the day we had.
